The Friends are a 501-(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We consider our finances as a matter of public record, and we welcome any and all donors to inquire, at any time, exactly how their generous gifts are being used.

The Friends of the Visual Arts are eligible participants with the Oregon Cultural Trust. Donations made via the Cultural Trust qualify for a 100% tax credit in Oregon--please see their website for details.

The Friends also participate in GoodSearch.com. Every time you search the Web with this engine, they donate a penny to the WAC! You can "Back the WAC" just by surfing the web--how convenient is that? Click their logo to get started.

You can make an online donation to the WAC right now, by clicking on the
button at left. This will take you to PayPal, a secure online service that
processes credit cards and other funds. PayPal is free--there are no fees or costs to you to make a
donation through their site. Your online contribution will go to our General Budget, to be used for
new equipment, art supplies, or improvements to the studio.

2008 Grantor Profile: Meyer Memorial Trust

The Friends thank the Meyer Memorial Trust for a 2008 Grassroots Grant. The grant will support a much needed upgrade to the Glassblowing exhibit in the Artisan's Village at the Oregon State Fair. This upgrade will bring our glass equipment into the 21st century and allow us to expand our art curricula, to offer Glass Blowing classes for the first time in Salem!

2008 Grantor Profile: The Oregon Arts Commission

The Friends thank the Oregon Arts Commission for their Arts Recognition Grant. This fund will be used to develop and purchase promotional materials for the WAC, including brochures, roadside signage, and a video about our Center.

2008 Grantor Profile: City of Salem
Cultural and Tourism Promotion Advisory Board

The Friends have been designated to receive two grants from this fund during the 2008 FY disbursement in July. The first, a Capital Improvement grant, will be used to complete our Kiln Yard and create a new entrance to this area. The second is an Operating Expenses grant, and will contribute across the board to improvements in our programs.

2007 Grantor Profile: Walton Charitable Trust

The Friends would like to thank the William S. Walton Charitable Trust of Salem. Their recent grant was spent on direct program expenses for our Winter, 2008 After School Art program, serving 62 local elementary school children for eight weeks.
