Our studio is an artists' oasis tucked amidst the oaks on the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem.
Featuring wide, airy workspace for both 2-D and 3-D artists, we welcome beginners and experts alike to express their creativity in a friendly, supportive community.
The Friends of the Visual Arts are also proud to host the Artisan's Village at the Oregon State Fair.

Empty Bowls Kicks Off
Our annual Empty Bowl fundraiser got off to a smashing start this year, with nearly all of the 1200 bowls selling on the first day!

The WAC has been packed elbow-to-elbow with shoppers since the sale began Saturday, Nov. 22! Good thing we made twice as many bowls this year as we did last year, although it looks like they'll be gone before Thanksgiving. Who says the economy is floundering? We Oregonians can still take care of one another!
Didn't make it to Empty Bowls in time? There are still lots of lovely, handmade pieces for sale at the WAC. Our gallery is open daily from 2-8 PM, and our official Annual Staff and Student Sale will be held on Saturday Dec. 6 from 10 AM to 4 PM. After all, artists need to eat too! Come on out and support local artistry--and finish your shopping early!

You can sign up at the WAC, or right here on this website. New classes in Pine Needle Basketry, Gourd Art, and Tile/Mold Making! Homeschool families will enjoy our Clay Adventures course--and every kid can check out our Spring Break Art Camp.
Registration has already begun, but there's still room in all of our classes. You can even order Gift Certificates from the WAC if you'd like to give the gift of an art class to someone special!
